Going on vacation is all about taking a break from your normal schedule. Most people tend to relax and forget about their workout routine while they are on vacation but others find a way to stay active.  Fortunately, for guests who come to Santa Teresa, staying in shape becomes part of the fun because there are a variety of exciting ways to exercise in town.

The beaches around Santa Teresa are the perfect location for a workout because they are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  Some of the most popular ways to stay active on vacation are surfing, swimming, and walking or running on the beach.  Some of us tend to get a little lazy on vacation, so if you are looking for a structured class to provide that extra motivation, then Santa Teresa has you covered!

Yoga Classes in Santa Teresa

Travelers from all over the world come to Santa Teresa to experience top notch yoga classes in some of the most idyllic surroundings available. Pranamar Villas in Hermosa Beach is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. This private beach front hotel has a large yoga shala nestled in tropical gardens featuring teak floors and a high bamboo ceiling.  On the other side of town is the Horizon yoga studio which is perched on the hillside offering incredible ocean views. They offer daily classes which include vinyasa, pilates, and prenatal yoga. Private yoga classes are available at both locations if you prefer a more personalized class.

Pilates in Santa Teresa

If yoga isn’t your thing, then why not try something a little different? Find your balance and harmony inside and out as you move, sweat and flow with Pilates at the Florblanca Hotel. Pilates focuses on strengthening your core muscles making you feel taller, leaner and more connected to your body and inner strength. The fully equipped studio at Florblanca offers private and semi-private classes and a group mat class is available twice a week.

If you want something a little more up-beat, then boot camp might be for you. Power Payne Fitness in Hermosa Beach offers a fun outdoor boot camp style workout adaptable to all fitness levels. The classes are a mix of high intensity interval training, track and field drills, crossfit, core work, and Pilates or yoga to close the class.  They offer 4 intense boot camp classes a week, as well as private/semi private training.

Are there any weight training facilities?

  • Tyler P Drogin says:

Thank you for the information. I tried clicking on the link for Power Payne Fitness but the page seems to have been removed. Do you know if the classes are still being offered? Where can I find more info? If not, are there any other interval training/fitness type classes available in Santa Teresa? Similar to Crossfit. I’m considering spending a few months in Santa Teresa and am looking for fitness classes.

    Thank you!

    • Hi! I’m sorry but those classes are no longer being offered in the area. There is someone else who is doing surf training classes but they don’t have a website just yet. I’ll try to get the info for you though

Thank you for the response! Too bad. That is wonderful someone else is offering surf training. Do you know that these are like? Is it interval training type classes?

        Thank you,

        Tyler Drogin
